Add a BRAS

1.1. 1. Goto Provisioning –> NetGws

shows table of CMTS's and BRAS's

1.2. 2. Move mouse to top right corner and click to create a new BRAS

shows BRAS basic page

  1. select manufacturer and type (provides default BRAS configurations, included in the source code as linked HTML file, own templates are possible)
    choose "Other" if vendor is not in the list

  2. (use command line to copy it to CMTS or drop it to TFTP server and then pull it from the CMTS)

  3. set name

  4. set IP

  5. set NAS secret (The BRAS acts as a RADIUS client = NAS (Network Access Server) towards the RADIUS server implemented in NMS Prime. To enable this communication, the BRAS needs to authenticate at the RADIUS server)

  6. optional: specify SNMP communities (if the IPs are to be queried about SNMP, see also analysis page)

1.3. 3. Click the Save button

shows BRAS page of the newly created device

  • page contains now windows on the right side for assigned IP-Pools, Config proposals, Cluster

  • symbol on the right side to the IP bar indicates whether the device is accessible from the provisioning server or not (
