1. Goto Provisioning –> NetGws
shows table of CMTS's and BRAS's
2. Move mouse to top right corner and click to create a new BRAS
shows BRAS basic page
- select manufacturer and type (provides default BRAS configurations, included in the source code as linked HTML file, own templates are possible)
choose "Other" if vendor is not in the list - (use command line to copy it to CMTS or drop it to TFTP server and then pull it from the CMTS)
- set name
- set IP
- set NAS secret (The BRAS acts as a RADIUS client = NAS (Network Access Server) towards the RADIUS server implemented in NMS Prime. To enable this communication, the BRAS needs to authenticate at the RADIUS server)
- optional: specify SNMP communities (if the IPs are to be queried about SNMP, see also analysis page)
3. Click the Save button
shows BRAS page of the newly created device
- page contains now windows on the right side for assigned IP-Pools, Config proposals, Cluster
- symbol on the right side to the IP bar indicates whether the device is accessible from the provisioning server or not (,)
NOTE: if you later want to change default IP address pools for automatic adding, see NMS Prime default IP ranges page.
