Requirements
You need to have the HfcSnmp module installed.
NMS Prime version must be 2.5.4 or higher.
Configuration
Before you can controle the tap ports you have to tell NMS Prime the address of the RKM & video controlling server and the video encoder under Global → Global Config Page → HFC - as depicted on the right.
The netelement types Tap and Tap-Port are automatically installed during installation. After creating new netelements of these types you can switch to the controlling page of that netelement.
Setup & ERD
You can add Taps and Tap-Ports to build your curcuit or entity relation diagram.
The latter is the single port of a tap. It must be added separately because to be controlable the unique address must be assigned. Also with that it's possible to assign the port to an apartment.
For the controlling page to see the correct line number of the video encoder it's important to insert this number to the parent cluster element → 'RKM line number'.
Currently only Taps are shown in the full ERD to not overload the picture. On left clicking a Tap you will see all assigned Tap-Ports.

Handling
To find ingress it's important to see the live upstream channel picture. When you get to the controlling page of a Tap-Port you have the opportunity to switch to the channel determined via it's parent cluster. This is not done automatically as this could lead to a lot of channel switches when several users open different controlling pages of Tap-Ports.
So you first should switch to the right channel and then switch the Tap-Port state. When you finished that you can enable the automatic switch mode again.
