Before upgrading
Confirm that the target release supports your operating system and enabled applications.
Read all release notes between your installed and target versions.
Create and verify current database and configuration backups.
Plan a maintenance window and rollback procedure.
Test the upgrade on a representative non-production installation whenever possible.
