Overview (Prime Detect)

NMS Prime is a CRM, BSS and OSS platform for ISPs and Telcos.

Prime Detect is the impairment and plant-visibility app in NMS Prime. It shows monitored network elements on topography maps and entity-relation diagrams, surfaces Icinga host/service problems on a trouble dashboard, and helps operations act before outages spread.

What it does

  • Opens a Detect Dashboard with impaired-element summary (and tickets when Ticket is enabled)

  • Renders topography MAP and ERD views of the plant tree (nets, clusters, devices)

  • Integrates Icinga 2 host/service status, state history, mute, and NMS object lists

  • Shows customer / modem context on the geo map (with provisioning)

  • Supports KML/cable-plan overlays and map actions for day-to-day NOC work

Main stories

  1. As NOC, I open Detect and see which clusters are impaired and how many modems are affected

  2. As ops, I mute a known noisy service while we wait for a planned fix

  3. As a planner, I build topography / ERD so the plant matches reality

  4. As support, I open the geo map and jump to customers under a bad node

  5. As delivery, I confirm Icinga status flows into the trouble board
