App hub: Prime Detect
Enable & prerequisites
Install / enable Detect (
nmsprime-hfcbase) with Icinga 2 and plant/net-element prerequisites.Confirm net elements (nets, clusters, devices) exist for the pilot area.
Confirm Icinga API credentials are configured for the tenant.
Rebuild the plant tree index when relations look stale.
Detect Dashboard
Open Detect from the menu.
Review the impaired-element summary and recent plant change logs.
Open the trouble board for severity, affected modems, and mute actions.
With Ticket enabled, raise or link work from an impairment.
Topography & ERD
Open Topography for the pilot net/cluster.
Verify devices appear at expected geo positions (adjust positions as needed).
Open ERD for the same net to verify hierarchy.
Import KML / cable plans when you need drawings on the map.
Icinga views
Open Icinga host/service lists from Detect.
Drill into state history for a host that recently changed.
Mute noisy problems from the trouble board during planned work.
With Prime Monitoring

When something looks wrong
Empty trouble board → Icinga API / credentials, or no critical hosts
Empty map → net elements missing positions or tree index stale
ERD incomplete → rebuild tree relations; check parent links on net elements
Customers missing → provisioning geo data not present for those modems
Legacy hub content (videos & media)
Manage impairments instantly or even before they occur. NMS Prime Detect analyzes and interprets data and prepares information in topography MAP and ERD views.
Pro hint: Best used with Prime Monitoring for real-time device analysis.
