Overview (Prime Monitoring)
Overview (Prime Monitoring)
NMS Prime is a CRM, BSS and OSS platform for ISPs and Telcos.
Prime Monitoring is the access-network device monitoring app in NMS Prime. It surveys SNMP- and TR-069-capable customer and plant devices — cable modems, MTAs, CPEs, and network gateways — and presents real-time RF and session analysis so operators can diagnose quality issues quickly.
What it does
Opens a modem analysis view with live and historical channel data (power, MER, frequencies, bandwidth, DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM detail)
Supports TR-069 / CWMP devices as well as classic DOCSIS SNMP polling
Shows Grafana dashboards, spectrum / full-band capture (where supported), pre-equalization, and Arris iperf throughput tests
Analyses network gateways (CMTS / OLT) with realtime SNMP tables
Surfaces DHCP flapping, lease / config / event logs (with provisioning), and IP-based global search
Who uses it
Role | Work |
|---|---|
NOC / plant ops | Diagnose modem and CMTS RF quality in real time |
Field support | Compare neighbourhood modems and spectrum before a truck roll |
Provisioning ops | Confirm a device came online with the expected config and sessions |
Delivery | Enable polling, Grafana, and thresholds for go-live |
Main features
Modem analysis page (realtime values, critical-value highlighting, device picture)
Upstream / downstream channel tables including DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM detail
Spectrum / full-band capture and configurable spectrum frequency span
Pre-equalization tab, ping / flood-ping, Arris iperf measurement
Network-gateway (NetGw) realtime analysis
Grafana history dashboards per device / configfile
DHCP flapping detection and monitoring config (update interval, spectrum span)
Diagram hooks for net elements (with Detect / plant inventory)
Handled by neighbouring apps

Main stories
As NOC, I open a modem and see live channel power / MER with critical values highlighted
As support, I run spectrum or pre-eq when a customer reports intermittent quality
As NOC, I analyse a CMTS / NetGw for channel and modem counts in realtime
As ops, I spot DHCP flapping before it floods the helpdesk
As delivery, I confirm Grafana history and polling after enablement
