Follow our install tutorial for NMS Prime on youtube while reading through this article. We will explain the entire installation process from installing CentOS 7 on a VM, by installing NMS Prime via RPM, until setting up a CMTS and bringing a first Cable Modem online.

There are two different ways to setup a system: by RPM and from Source Code. The first is recommended. Setting up from GIT is useful if you want to make changes in the code and contribute to github.
